About Ann Creber...
Ann Creber
I love radio! For about 12 years I was a weekly guest
on ABC's 3LO which later became 774. I was the "resident
foodie" firstly with Mary Adams and then with Elaine
Canty, until she left the station and I moved up to
Kalorama. For one season I even had a Saturday morning
stint with Clark Hansen and Bob Davis on the footie
preview program!
Until last year I used to do a ridiculous "live"
3.30 A.M. program
on 774 where I sat up in bed and chatted about food
and took calls from all the insomniacs and night workers!
The host of the show was Madeleine Randall, it was national
and she was broadcasting from ABC's Newcastle studio!
We never met but became great friends via our off air
chats and when she left to take over the Drive Show,
I decided to give up that particular middle-of-the-night
madness!
One day I innocently wandered into 3MDR as a guest
on Judy-Ann's program and left an hour later as a presenter!
(That John Weeks is very persuasive.) He has been great
in pushing all those tricky panel buttons and knobs
for my program, which leaves me free to do what I like
best - talk!
I still work in food (my background was in weight control)
but as I am naturally inquisitive and also a great reader,
I love being able to review books and talk with authors
about all kinds of topics. After about 30 years in the
food industry (as consultant, food editor, restaurant
reviewer, cookbook author and food stylist) I have a
great network to call on for interviews and no-one is
safe if I think they have a good story to tell.
I'd love to hear from any listeners with suggestions
for topics they'd like to hear about or even just to
tell me that they are tired of Van Morrison, The Doors
and Georgia On My Mind! Not that I'll stop playing them......
but please keep listening anyhow.
