Sunbury Pop Festival 1973

Venue : Sunbury, Victoria, Australia

My brother Kevin and I went to the first Sunbury Pop Festival. It was described as the "Rock Happening of 1973". The Festival ran on the long weekend in late January. The attendance was approximately 35,000 (depending what report you read at the time). The entry fee was approx. $6.00 (3 days), $5.00 (2 days), $1.00 (1 day) - An amazing value for money to see 3 days of Australia's best Rock bands and artists. The following photos of crowd scenes were taken by Kevin and I with a small Kodak instamatic camera. Sadly we were unable to take photographs of the artists on stage. ..... John Weeks
